Ah. I used to be really excited for prom a few months ago. Then my excitement started dying down as I realized that the concept was really a lot more overrated than I had the impression of, and there was nothing at all enjoyable about prom for me to be excited about. I hate dances! I hate dressing up. I hate the annoying pressures that people put on you to follow tradition. But I did like seeing people dressed up so nicely, and taking pictures of them, and tagging pictures of them, and staring at the pictures of them, mm.
People started complaining. Conversations about prom were what blew it up to be a bigger deal than it was, I think. Or maybe it was just the idea of going to something so formal that was new to us childrens.
It was exasperating to deal with all the preparation stuff, and everything is just a heck of a lot of money spent on one day.
Friday evening my mom took me to Hao Shuming to get a hair cut. I was very angry as I usually am after hair cuts because it neever turns out rite!!!!! My previously thin hair is now pointy and hay-like and even thinner. :’c It looked so much worse curled than it did when it was just straight, and I regretted it horribly. Basically I had to follow through because we agreed, and I went back Saturday morning at 8 to get it more seriously curled and she sprayed 50 lbs of hairspray and it smelled so bad and I looked like a 30 year old man because my face shape does not work with curly hair.
Also I spent the rest of Friday night re-sewing my dress for about the 4th time and the 5th layer. lkjdsfldskjlfalkslkdsajfleijoifj
We went shopping cuz we were in chinatown, then my mom bought me an eyeliner so I wouldn’t have to use those crayola kids paints lol. Then my hair was already starting to fall apart and my mom made me tie it up and I took a nap with my contacts to revive my eyes. When I woke up, I still couldn’t contact my makeup person but my friend told me about a free makeup event at JCPenney so I went there and awkwardly sat as a lady applied eyeshadow on me for like the first time. I looked scuuurry. Then it was already sort of too late and I rushed to get back home, and my parents helped me tape my dress to my body. My dad got a few ugly pictures of me and then we went to Chris’s house to meet up for the limo, and we took a few pictures by their pool. I didn’t have to put on the boutonnier for Yanyang because someone’s mom did it for me, yes! Then blablah we took pics by the limo, then went to the restaurant, I got the smallest soup, Diana and I took pictures in the bathroom.
Nice public bathrooms are one of the most underrated places in society.
The limo was so cramped and lame but o well. At the galleria, I saw a few people and took their pictures immediately. But then I had to put my camera away cause I didn’t want to carry it the whooole time and I missed taking pictures of a lot of my friends. :( The lighting was so nice in there, but it only looked that way when I didn’t use flash, so most of the pictures turned out blurry.
Also there was a lot of really good fancy snack foods and I’m still full from yesterday somehow.
Anyways, I spent this whole morning uploading pictures and monitoring facebook as everyone else is hanging out in their beach houses and lake houses lulz.
This post turned out incredibly boring and I haven’t even started describing the actual prom…yeah I’ll just leave off from here.
Some photos to compensate.
